Under this scheme Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana, the individuals who earns an annual income equal to or less than Rs 3 lakhs, will be eligible to get the allotment first of the houses.

But, if the annual income is more than Rs 3 lakhs but less than Rs 5 lakhs, the candidate will get the allocated houses in the next phase. The individuals who belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) will be the most beneficial class as they will get free houses.
The government of Punjab has worked together with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) to make this scheme even more beneficial and efficient.

The simple few steps through which you can apply for Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana through the PMAY portal are mentioned below:
Step 1: Visit the Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana’s official website at https://pmidcprojects.punjab.gov.in/pmay/.
Step 2: Then, click on ‘Citizen Form’ on the official homepage.

Step 3: Now, you will be redirected to another page that will further ask you to have your own land for building a house. You have to choose between Yes or No.

Step 4: Once this is done, the registration form will be visible on the screen. The form is available in both languages i.e. English and Punjabi.
Step 5: key in the personal details like your name, your father’s/husband’s name, age, gender, permanent address and present address.

Step 6: Next, from the given list of options you will have to choose your district and town. Fill in the mobile number, marital status, Aadhaar number, religion, caste, city, bank name, bank account number and annual income.

Step 7: State the number of years you have stayed in the city, your occupation, type of employment, average monthly income of your household. Moreover, if you possess a BPL (below poverty line) card, then you need to submit it.

Step 8: Once, you have completed the application form, upload your passport-sized photographs and other necessary documents.
Step 9: You are also required to add the details of another family member. Mention their name, what relationship they share with you, their age, gender, and Aadhaar number. You can add information concerning more family members by clicking on the ‘Add More Family Members Details’ option.
Step 10: Click on Submit.

Step 1: The beneficiary list of Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana can be viewed through official website of the Prime Minister Housing Scheme at https://pmaymis.gov.in/default.aspx.
Step 2: Now, on the home page, just click on ‘Search Beneficiary’ on the Main Navigation Menu and choose ‘Search by Name’.
Step 3: From here you will be redirected to another page where you have to enter your Aadhaar number.

Step 4: Lastly, click on Show and you will be able to view the beneficiary list.

Step 2: Click on ULB Login from the given 3 options.

Step 3: Then, enter your town name and password.
Step 4: Finally, the last step is to verify your identity with captcha verification.

The Punjab Government had approved a total of 96,283 houses till the time of October 1, 2020. Out of these, the count of completed houses is 28,446 and the remaining are still undergoing construction activity. For the following phase, the Punjab Government has set a target of 1.5 lakh houses.
