1. Learn to know when plants need water
Plants need extra attention when it comes to giving them water. It would help if you did not allow excess water and also underwater. Your actual goal should be to nurture plants with the correct amount of water so that soil gets moist enough and help in the plant's growth.
Now the critical question is how to give water o the plants? So, the answer is to pour the water into the soil until it does not trickle out from the drainage hole in the foot of the pot. Usually, plants need water two times a day (morning and evening). But at the time of rainy season and winters, to check whether your plant needs water or not, you need to dig your finger in the soil around 2 inches. If you find the soil is dry, then put water into it; otherwise, ignores it.
2. Keep a check on clamminess and exposure to air
Do you know most indoor plants grow in 65-75° temperature and 10° cooler at night? It is a lesser-known fact, but you should research it. Mostly indoor plants require water and humidity to grow in natural conditions. But it required moisture too, which you can give easily by spraying water over the plants every day.
While adding moist over the plants, make sure the moisture will spray over the leaves. And also keep it within the limit. To avoid excess water or moisture, you can circulate the fan near it to remove excess water, and plants absorb the moisture they need.
3. Check lights
We all know that plants need water, air, and light to grow faster. But do you know plants require a different form of lights? Most houseplants need indirect lights instead of direct. The indoor plants that more likely to place near windows require direct light (sun) to grow while few require indirect light, like ZZ plant, snake plant, philodendron, etc. These plants are mainly grown in the north, and east-facing windows with lesser light; even some plants require artificial lights to grow during the winter season.
If you need healthy growth of the plants, normal bulb light is not adequate. You need to switch normal light into fluorescent LED lights that give a full-spectrum of lights and have the power to minimize the solar spectrum.
4. Use the Right soil
One of the critical factors you should not forget is selecting suitable soil for the plants. With correct soil, plants receive an adequate amount of nutrients and enhance growth. Furthermore, proper soil works as an ideal source of absorbing water, filtering nutrition, and aeration.
You should mix potting soil for better growth, including bark, vermiculite, and shredded pink bark. You can buy this soil easily from the gardener's shop. But make sure you are choosing the suitable potting soil for your indoor plants.
